The dream of a broken toed girl

Yes, my broken big toe is still not OK. It means that this summer is going to be the summer of the flat shoes for me. At least, it is going to be very comfortable... :-)

Bern - Boxing Night

My friend is a huge fun of box, and one of his birthday presents was a pair of tickets to the European Championships. It took place in Bern yesterday. It was my first box event. We saw really exciting fights! Before I was a bit afraid of being bored, but it turned out to be an interesting event. The Swiss audience was so enthusiastic. Maybe the negative side is the result of this, because the judges voted always for the Swiss boxer. I almost cried for a Georgian boxer who was much better then its Swiss adversary but the judges voted for the Swiss. It is too bed to see injustice happen, to see the victims suffering face and being unable to change it or help. No matter if it is a sport event or whatever...

Cinque Terre III.

Cinque Terre II.

Cinque Terre I.

We spent 4 days in the magnificient National Park of Cinque Terre in Italy. It was really beautiful there, but I have to mention that the way to get through Switzerland is also beautiful. (Just 1 exemple:)

So, this place is called 5 Terre, because it is a long rocky seaside decorated by 5 antique villages. I loved the tarnished charm of these fishermen`s villages built on the rocks. I was so happy to smell the salty air and to see the infinite blue sea from the high rocks. Our house was also built on the rocks.

That is what we saw through our window:

The entry door:

The view from our terrace:

It was a pretty romantic place. I enjoyed to walk around there. Even if the sea was very cold, we could enjoy the water because we bought a boat like this:

We spent hours by sunbathing on the sea in our boat. It looks small, but is more comfortable then it seems to be. :-)  This kayak was a good idea also because I couldn`t walk too much on the stones with my broken toe.

Cinque Terre 0.

Hello! I came back from Italy! I am still a bit tired of the journey, so I plan to post much more later.  My soul is full of the fairy beauty I´ve seen there! Anyway, I share some pictures as an introduction.

Tasty in Morocco

What I liked the most about the food in Marrakesh was the fresh roast, and...

the tagine. It is a dish served in the lower part of the ceramic pot in what they cook it. The vegetables and the meet are baked together. This process makes a good kind of gravy and it is pretty spicy. Delicious!

Basel

A few weeks ago, we made a short trip to Basel. This city is in the encounter of 3 borders (Switzerland, Germany, France). It was amazing to hear people speaking German on the left, and Franch on the right. And no, I wasn't at the airport. I was just in a restaurant, on the riverside, or just on the street. It is really funny that everybody speaks his/her own language, and they understand each other.

My trip to Marrakech I.

I read so many different, but always very extrem opinions about Marrakech that made me very curious about this city.

So, last week I drove to Milan in order to fly to Marrakech. Unfortunately, I only had 4 days to discover the city. There was another disadvantageous factor: my big toe was broken, and it limited my capacity to walk a lot. But it doesn’t unnerved me to travel, I just saw a bit less then I wanted.

Since it was a spontaneous idea what occurred me just recently, I travelled alone with a backpack. I was totally conscious about the fact that it wasn’t easy to get by alone in an arabesque city, but it just made me more curious about it.

Arriving to Marrakech is fabulous! The so-called Red City looks from the sky like a scale-modell cut out from one peace of brick, scattered with flowers. The way from the airport to the city center is also gorgeous! The road is bordered by roses, palm trees and olive trees. It really feels like arriving to a big, rich and fruitful oasis.

After taking off from the airport bus, it is like dropping in to Super Mario’s role in a video game. There are many things coming from everywhere and I have to be very careful and move quickly to not to be hit or harassed by them. I really enjoyed this chaos! (At least after living for a while in Switzerland, it seemed to be a chaos for me.)It was so refreshing after the very strict Swiss mentality!

Marrakech - Badil palace

Marrakech - Majorelle garden

A French painter decided to collect exotic plants. Somehow, his garden turned out to be his masterwork. After his death, it was Yves Saint Laurent who took care about this collection. Obviously, YSL had a good taste...
