Passion for RED

(I got these pictures indirectly, I don`t know their precise origin.)

Switzerland - Spain 1:0

Yesterday, Switzerland won unexpectedly a football match. It was not just an ordinary football match! It was at the World Championships and on the top of that against the famous Spanish team! The people in the downtown went totally crazy! I never saw Zürich like this before! People danced and celebrated together on the street!
Even if I was in a hurry to my very expensive german lesson, I prefered to be late a little bit. I wanted to share their happiness for a while!

It wasn't easy to take pictures, because everybody was moving, but I tried at least:

And the poor Spanish mourners:

The WAVE Hammock by Erik Nyberg and Gustav Ström

I have just found another cute exemple for the Swedish designers excellent works. Generally, furniture made of aluminium is not really my cup of tea, but of course, there are exeptions. Like this outdoor hammock:

It has been raining since last Friday, so this picture is like a dream for me these wet working days! I like the color and the shape! The form is composed only by a few of curved lines, but the effect is simply great!

Oh, and I absolutely love this kind of doggy with the light soft hair!

Next trip: Köln

On Saturday I am going to Köln in Germany to participate to a birthday party. The road trip is not short, so we decided to stay there for a couple of days.
To tell the truth, I don't know too much about the city and I am looking for information about the nice spots and interesting places in Köln.

I suppose it should be a nice place, there are people putting the city on their wall:

Does anybody know anything about Köln?

Another cloudy but happy weekend

It rains a lot in Switzerland and that enchants the plants.  That is why you can see beautiful colors everywhere here even if it is cloudy. We went to an excursion on Saturday, and we saw this wonderful striking green embracing us:

Laced mountains....

Katalin Verebics

I am always a bit sad when I feel like I miss something that is going on in my hometown Budapest. I have just realised that I miss one of my favorite Hungarian painter's exhibition. I am going to arrive a fews days later to Budapest then the exhibition closes. To consolate myself, I decided to post her works for you. I think she makes gorgeous pictures about herself!

Sushi

We finished our last week by a sushi evening on Sunday with friends.  I think I don`t have present you the dish and how delicious it is...  It was a very nice way to end a pleasant weekend.

Gulyás

I discovered an international mistake. There is a Hungarian dish called "gulyás" but it is something different in Hungary then Western European people know it in general.

If I follow my grandmothers recipe, I have to start with these ingredients:

And after 2 hours of cooking, I get this soup. OK, I admit that it just looks like a soup... But believe me, everybody who tasted it wanted for more! I have already tested people from all around the world! It is really yummy!

So, the international mistake is that in this part of Europe everybody knows it as a casserole, as you can see it in this instant food bag that I discovered recently in supermarket:

We also have a similar dish then this one on the picture, too. But it has a different name and I would never ever cook it from powder!

Lazy cloudy warm Sunday afternoon in Zürich citycenter

If you walk along one of the worlds most expensive street, the Bahnhofstrasse in Zürich from the railway station, you arrive to the lake. There is a huge park on the lakeside and people are laying everywhere in the grass enjoying their pick-nick, playing badminton or just having a chat with friends, drinking a beer from a can... you can even see girls in underwear having a bath in the lake, because jumping into the water was a spontaneous idea. I really enjoy this contrast between the world of Chanel and Prada stores and the junkies place, so close to each other!
(And nobody leaves its garbage in the grass of the park or at least, there is somebody who collects it.)

Remembering may in Switzerland

The thing that I love about living in a medium-sized city is that I can choose if I want to be in the hectic center or if I want to enjoy some rural peace. I can have both in 20 minutes, everything is relative close to our place.

I work outside of the city, but it is just 15 minutes by car. The way to work was decorated during one month by beautiful yellow flowers. Seeing this gorgeous radiant color each morning made all my mornings happier!

Waiting for the bus

I have to confess that I am a huge fun of red color!

I even have red furniture...

So, yesterday I went to an international party. I like these kind of parties where I can talk to people from everywhere. There were people from India, Canada, China, England, Germany, Italy, France, Chile and Switzerland. It is so amazing that we have so many differences, but we can always laugh together! Yesterday, I felt a little bit like I traveled to all of these countries for 15 minutes. :-)

Funny chairs

(in an Italian restaurant)

I wonder how I would look like from behind if I sit in a chair like this....

Have a nice weekend!

I wish you all a very nice weekend! :-)
As for me, I am looking forward to a party tonight! The program for the rest of the time depends on the weather...
(This is my favorite picture about the sea that I took 2 weeks ago.)

Ageless design

(octogon.hu)

I was surprised to read that these tables are made of concrete. But I was shocked when I read that they had been designed by a 103 years old man! Regarding the fact that this kind of concrete that is good to create smooth furniture is a high tech material in construction, it is even more special! This gentleman´s name is Oscar Niemeyer, a South-American architect, who designed this peaces of furniture for IVANKA.

I find his bookshelf also very creative!

Swiss design

I saw this bottle SUPPORTED by the chain in the Waser shop. It's brilliant!

I went pink

I wanted our weekend in Italy to be romantic in many ways, so I decided to wear PINK in any circumstances. :-))) You can see the result here:

Swoon

I am a huge fun of her! The good news for me is that she will have an exhibition in Zürich. I find her works very expressive and full of fantasy! I am looking forward to see her pictures live!
